Narrative description of Project:
The Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) were given funds by the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) for the development of a new building to accommodate its health and youth services. These funds also allowed for the purchase of a suitable site.
The project scope includes the design and construction of a new facility of an approximate total Gross Floor Area (GFA) of 1,150sqm to accommodate current services and future growth.

Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment:
Assai were appointed by WACHS as the OATSIH Capital Works Project Manager to undertake the following Project Management services:
  • Health service planning and operational policy development (including the development of a Schedule of Accommodation)
  • Identification and procurement of an appropriate site for the new facility
  • Design, documentation for Design Development and Construct (DD&C) Contract, procurement of DD&C Contractor, and construction administration
The process of defining the project scope involved extensive consultation with key project stakeholders including WACHS, OATSIH, NSW Health, Wellington Council, a range of Australian Government and NSW Government service providers, and neighbours.
