David Week, Ph.D is the Managing Director of AssaĆ. For 25 years, David has focussed on all aspects of culturally appropriate infrastructure, using a set of methodologies developed to deliver 'culture drive projects' [CDP]. He has successfully brought CDP methodologies to the design and management of overseas aid projects, the planning and design of facilities for Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander communities, the design of corporate workplaces based on organisational culture, and regional architecture in a dozen countries.
A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Sydney University, David is a dual national (USA and Australia). He has written three books; The Culture Driven Workplace, Building Hotels in Papua New Guinea, and Grass Roots Guesthouses. David has also delivered keynote speeches at international conferences, and lectured at universities throughout Australia and in Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and in the US. His work has received seven major awards, including a 1999 RAIA International Award and a 2001 RAPI Award for Excellence in Planning.
